1. This Code shall enter into force on September
1, 2001.
2. As this Code enters into force, the following
legislation shall lose its effect:
Criminal Code of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist
Republic of December 28, 1960 (hereinafter
referred to as ‘the 1960 CC') (Vidomosti Verkhovnoi
Rady Ukrainskoi RSR, 1961, No. 2, p. 14) as
amended;
Law of the Ukrainian SSR " On Adoption
of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR"
(Vidomosti Verkhovnoi Rady Ukrainskoi RSR,
1961, No. 2, p 14);
Articles 1, 2 and 5 of the Decree of the Presidium
of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukrainian
SSR of April 20, 1990 "On Liability for
actions breaching the public order and safety

Decree by the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada
